Danes bomo pod drobnogled vzeli ozadje sveže uspešnice Nobody but Me pod katero se podpisujejo The Knocks in Cold War Kids.
The Knocks je ameriški duo iz vod elektronske glasbe, ki ga sestavljata Ben "B-Roc" Ruttner in James "JPatt" Patterson.
Revija NME je The Knocks leta 2010 razglasila za enega izmed "20 najbolj vročih glasbenih producentov", skupina pa je bila istega leta pogosto predstavljena v "Popwrap" New York Posta.
Od takrat so izdali 3 albume in 5 EP-jev. Poleg tega so ostali uspešni remixerji za izvajalce celotnega glasbenega spektra.
Znani so tudi po svojih singlih izdanih kot sodelovanja, pri skladbi Nobody but me, ki prihaja z njihovega tretjega albuma, HISTORY, izdanega aprila letos, so sodelovali s Cold War Kids.
Ti so ameriška alternativna rock skupina iz Long Beacha v Kaliforniji.
Za Nobody but Me pa je bil uporabljen zanimiv vir sempla, gospel pesem Mean Old World iz leta 1959 v izvedbi The Stars of faith.
"Izvirni" Stars of Faith so bili nekdanji pevci skupine Ward, ki so leta 1958 postali skupina Marion Williams, potem ko so vsi zapustili skupino Ward Singers.
Williams in The Stars so se razšli leta 1965, The Stars pa so nadaljevali kot neodvisna skušina pod vodstvom Frances Steadman in pogosto nastopali v Evropi.

In the past years we’ve exposed the background and samples of newer hits and evergreens. This year we will focus on songs that are most frequently sampled in the music industry. This week we have arrived at number 49 of our chart. Number 49 of the most often sampled songs is 'Blow your head' from Fred Wesley and the J.B.'s. This James Brown influenced funk creation offers an exceptional intro to the song, that many musicians, mostly hip hop artists of the 90's, used as sample for their own songs.
