In the final series, Prevc showed the longest jump of the day (136 metres) and got a 12.6-point advantage to Kenneth Gangnes (Norway). The winner of the tour’s opening match in Oberstdorf, Severin Freund, took third place after a somewhat failed jump in the second series (132.5 m). After the first jump, the German jumper was only 1.4 points behind the current winter’s best jumper. Both landed at 133.5 metres.

Freund 8.6 points behind
The first win at the 64th New Year’s tour has brought Prevc an 8.6-point advantage to Freund in the overall standing in the middle of this year’s tour. Michael Hayböck (Austria) is in third place, 21.1 point behind after fifth place at Friday’s competition.

10 wins make Prevc 2nd best Slovenian ski jumper
Prevc, the best Slovenian sportsman for the past three years, has brought Slovenian ski jumping its 54th triumph. Among 46 individuals’ victories in the World Cup, ten are his. This puts Prevc second on the list of the best Slovenian ski jumpers, with Primož Ulaga falling to third place but with Primož Peterka still on top. The latter has 15 gold medals and is the only Slovenian who has ever won the prestigious New Year’s tour of the four hills (6 January 1997).

Prevc also has a solid lead in the overall World Cup standing with 724 points. Freund is in second place with 559 points.
