The four-year project of energy restoration of public buildings at Gorenjska region REAAL, worth 5 mil. euros is being concluded. The municipalities of Gorenjska completed the project with the help of a contribution from Switzerland.

"The REAAL project can be a role model of cooperation of the Regional Development Agency Gorenjska and the municipalities where the needed investments have been completed, at the same time assuring sustainability with ecologic and financial benefits," said the director of the Regional Development agency Gorenjska Rok Šimenc.

The investments will assure to the municipalities the savings of 300,000 per year for heating, while the emission of carbon dioxide will diminish by approximately 700 tons per year. "This project showed how to satisfy the regional priorities with the European funds," he added.

The closing ceremony for the project will be attended by the president of Switzerland Simonetta Sommaruga as a part of her official visit to Slovenia. She will be accompanied by the Slovenian Minister responsible for Development, Strategic Projects and Cohesion Alenka Smerkolj and the Swiss ambassador Pierre-Yves Fux.
