Predsednik evropske komisije Jean-Claude Juncker je v evropskem parlamentu pretekli teden predstavil svojo belo knjigo o prihodnosti Evrope, v kateri je ponudil 5 scenarijev.. Belo knjigo je Juncker najprej razprl v Sloveniji, med dvodnevnim obiskom je o prihodnosti Evrope razpravljal z voditelji in z mladimi. Javna agencija SPIRIT Slovenija je na svojih spletnih straneh objavila javni natečaj za »Evropske nagrade za spodbujanje podjetništva za 2017«.
Parlament v Strasbourgu je obiskal kanadski premier Justin Trudeau, tistega v Bruslju pa ameriški podpredsednik Mike Pence. Prihodnost Evropske Unije je vse bolj nejasna, tudi zaradi vzpona nekaterih populističnih voditeljev. Kakšna so pričakovanja evropskih poslancev? Teran še vedno ne pusti spati tako slovenskim kot hrvaškim vinogradnikom.
Sedanji predsednik EK Jean Claude Juncker se ne bo potegoval za novih 5 let, pravzaprav je glede prihodnosti EU precej črnogled. V tokratnem Euranet Special sta svoj pogled na pasti populizma in prihodnost EU predstavila poslanca iz Slovenije, Lojze Peterle in Patricija Šulin. 15. februarja je Evropski parlament glasoval o zgodovinskem trgovinskem sporazumu med EU in Kanado, Ceti.
Pretekli teden ni prinesel kakšne velike spremembe na evropskih tleh, v ospredju sta bila Brexit in begunska kriza. Evropska komisarka za mobilnost in promet Violeta Bulc je bila na delovnem obisku v Sloveniji. Na mednarodni konferenci v Mariboru je govorila na temo z naslovom: Pametna mesta – danes in jutri. Univerzalni temeljni dohodek je denar, ki bi ga vsak stalni prebivalec določene države dobil vsak mesec od rojstva do smrti. Bi si ga lahko privoščili v Sloveniji?
Britansko vrhovno sodišče je ta teden razsodilo, da mora začetek izstopa Velike Britanije iz EU potrditi še britanski parlament. Kaj to pomeni za Brexit? Evropska komisija sprožila postopek za sprejetje delegiranega akta, s katerim želi Hrvaški dodeliti izjemo pri uporabi imena teran. Akt naj bi začel veljati 30. junija. 27. januar je dan spomina na žrtve nacizma, in mednarodni dan spomina na holokavst.
V ospredju tega tedna na tleh EU so bile naslednje teme: Brexit, Antonio Tajani, migrantska problematika, vino teran ter odnosi med EU in ZDA. Evropski parlament je dobil novega predsednika, Antonia Tajanija. O prihodnosti Evropske unije je razmišljal Dragan Barbutovski, samostojni svetovalec za EU in strateško komuniciranje.
V pregledu tedna izpostavljamo obisk britanskega zunanjega ministra Borisa Johnsona v Sloveniji, Islandsko vlado, ki namerava predlagati glasovanje o vstopu v EU in tudi to, da je bil v EP zaslišan Gunter Oetinger. Evropski poslanec Franc Bogovič je na svojem prvem letošnjem evropskem pogovoru v ospredje postavil izzive kmetijstva v Sloveniji in Evropi ter krožno gospodarstvo. Slovenska vlada je potrdila predlog novele zakona o tujcih. Z njim želi zagotoviti varnost Slovenije ob morebitnem novem množičnem nenadzorovanem prihodu migrantov.
