The SDS got 30.8%, up by more than four points compared to five years ago. The party's head Janez Janša, said the result was a "lesson to those who ostracize," as qioted by the STA. Janša added, this was a message to the current government coalition, to make a similar consideration that French President Macron made.

The ruling Freedom Movement got two and a seat each went to the green party Vesna, the Social Democrats and the Christian democratic New Slovenia.

Electoral Commission President Peter Golob said that partial results suggest an election turnout of 31.0%: ‘’The highest turnout was, as usual, in the Kranj constituency, 13.34%, while the lowest in the Maribor constituency, at 10.48%.’’

The Freedom Movement, contesting its first EU election, won 22.1%, the best result ever for centre-left party in an EU election.
