Those trapped, a family of three along with two guides, are said to be in good condition. They range in age from 22 to 58.

The president of the Caving Association of Slovenia, Igor Benko, said that they were safe and unharmed.

They will be able to leave the cave when the water level drops sufficiently. However, that could take several days as rainfall has been heavy recently, causing the nearby Bloščica river to rise.

It's hoped that waters will start to recede this afternoon.
