The streets of Ljubljana will again host the city’s traditional marathon.
In total 28.000 runners have registered for all categories.
The top favourites for victory are the Kenyan Marius Kimutai among men and the Ethiopian Firehiwot Dado in the women's competition.
Kimutai won the Rotterdam marathon this year. His personal record is 2 hours 5 minutes and 47 seconds which he achieved last year in Amsterdam.
