The Constitutional Court has stayed several key provisions of the new Act on RTV Slovenija, including the articles on the appointment of a new governing council and management.
The law was challenged by members of RTV's leadership. However, the court says it would reach a final decision on the constitutionality of the law as a matter of priority.
That means the procedures for the appointment of a new governing council and management can proceed, but the appointments will not take effect until the court reaches a final decision on the matter.
The new act on RTV Slovenia was passed by the new government last summer, arguing that the changes would depoliticize the public broadcaster.
