Storms with heavy downpours and strong gusts of wind are expected. There is the danger of flooding, especially in the western, central and northern parts of the country.

In eastern and central Slovenia, the orange alert will be in place until Friday afternoon.

Hydrologist Andrej Golob of the Environment Agency said: ‘’Floods will be most possible in the Vipava area, around Idrija and Škofjeloka and Cerkljansko hills, as well as in a large part of Gorenjsko, it is also not excluded in places slightly further east, in central Slovenia and in northern Slovenia, in the area of ​​Zasavje and in the Savinja region.’’

Until Sunday, a yellow alert will be in place for the northeast.
