In the bouldering final she scaled three out of four boulders. She needed only 29 seconds to scale the first boulder.
Her coach Roman Krajnik was very emotional: ‘’I really don't know how many people even understand what she has to go through, what it means to her actually to compete here in front of everyone. Of course, she will win. She did just that. But if you think of all the things she has to go through, including tolerating me, hats off to her, she’s one of a kind.’’
Brooke Raboutou of the US won silver in the end and the bronze medal went to Austria's Jessica Pilz.
Garnbret also won gold at the combined event at Tokyo 2020.
