The heavy snowfall that spread to most parts of the country has affected traffic all over the country.

There have been car accidents, truck skids and road closures reported all morning. Highways are also affected, trucks are being removed and sections closed for all traffic.

With up to 20cm of snow reported for some areas, the road conditions will further deteriorate.

Authorities are calling on all drivers to avoid travelling if possible, or use quality winter gear and to set off earlier than usual in case of hitting the road.

In the afternoon, the snowfall is said to calm down, but it will persist over the weekend.
