The border municipalities of Gornja Radgona and its neighboring Austrian counterpart Bad Radkersburg marked today the 50th anniversary of the bridge that connects them. Both keynote speakers, Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Miro Cerar as well as the governor of the Austrian Federal State of Styria Hermann Schützenhöfer, pointed out that the bridge has economic and social significance as well as a symbolic meaning for the two neighboring nations. The 111 meters long and 13 meters wide bridge over the Mura river was inaugurated on the 12th of October 1969 by then President of Yugoslavia Josip Broz Tito and Austrian President Franz Jonas.
