Slovenia's defending Olympic champion Benjamin Savšek finished 11th yesterday despite being a favorite to win. He got a 50 second penalty after touching a gate.
At first he was given only a two-second penalty but the referees ultimately decided that he pushed the gates away intentionally and he received a 50-second penalty.
The referee's decision is final and there is no possibility of appeal.
France won gold, the UK took silver and Slovakia won bronze.
