Around 60 tonnes of food, which would otherwise have been thrown away, has been saved in the first 6 months of this year. That's according to the organisation Slovenian Philantropy.

The food was redistributed to nearly 1,800 people by 65 volunteers.

It's all done as part of the Food for People, I Don't Trash project which was started in January 2014.

The project which started in Ljubljana, has spread to other towns including Murska Sobota, Črnomelj, Maribor and Jesenice, especially during the pandemic.
