The children, who range in age from just 4 years old to their mid-teens, will stay in Slovenia for at least 42 days as part of a project which was launched in September by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

It was a good day for Slovenia's kayakers and canoeists at the latest round of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Ivrea, just north of Turin. Benjamin Savšek won the Men's Canoe Final, while Eva Terčelj and Peter Kauzer were 3rd in their kayak finals.

The annual race comprises a number of circuits of Quebec City and is the first part of the Laurentian Classics, named after the St. Lawrence River which flows nearby. The second race is the Grand Prix of Montreal, which takes place tomorrow.
