Cities across Slovenia will be switching on festive lights this week.
The first was Slovenia's largest botanical gardens, Arboretum Volčji Potok, which switched on their lights on November 16. Ljubljana will start on Friday at 5pm. A nativity scene will open at the chapel of Ljubljana Castle.
In Slovenia's second largest city, Maribor, there will be expanded illumination with a 40-kilometer-long chain of lights.
On Saturday, Bled, Celje will turn on their lights.
On Sunday, Velenje and Slovenj Gradec will do so.
Other towns will begin next week.
