The festival, opened in Ljubljana's Cankarjev dom, will feature a total of 35 films on Alpine climbing and mountaineering culture.

The film launching the festival will be the South Korean award-winning feature film Becoming Who I Was.

Almost a third of this year's programme are feature films, the biggest number so far.

The film festival will also be screened in Domžale, Celje and Mojstrana.
