The majority of them believed that the bonus in many cases discourages people from taking a full-time job. The bonus was introduced in 2012 as a corrective welfare measure and work incentive.

The National Assembly today also passed the bill on state guarantees for the construction of a new rail link to the port of Koper and two sections of the Third Development Axis expressway. The latter will connect the northern regions of the country to the highway system. Infrastructure minister Alenka Bratušek said the bill entails a maximum of EUR 417 million loan guarantee for the railway and another EUR 360 million for the two expressway sections. However, parties have announced amendments for the bill’s second reading. The two infrastructure projects are considered Slovenia's largest in the making.

They also agreed a set of changes to the law governing pensions that will effectively increase pensions for men to a percentage equal to that of women. The law also enables pensioners who continue to work to get, alongside their salary, a certain percent of the pension they are entitled to.

The Assembly also unanimously endorsed legislative changes making public transportation free of charge for pensioners and persons with disabilities, among others, as of 1 July 2020.
