Slovenia’s under-21 national football team has qualified for the next U-21 European football championship. The young Slovenian football team secured a spot at next year’s championship after playing a 1:1 away draw with Austria last night.
Coach Mile Ačimović congratulated his players, saying that playing such a historic match at 19-years-old was no small feat.
This will be Slovenia’s only second appearance at a U-21 European football championship, after co-hosting the tournament four years ago. The nexton, which will also feature Slovenia, will be held in Slovakia in June.
