Carmen Manet from Slovenia has won the first edition of Eurovision Choir of the Year. The event took place yesterday evening in Riga. Nine choirs from across Europe took part in Eurovision Choir of the Year 2017. The nine competing choirs performed a six minute piece which reflected, in part, their national or regional character. The winner of the competition was decided by a jury made up of Mezzo Soprano Elina Garanča from Latvia, British composer John Rutter and Swiss conductor Nicolas Fink.
Tadej Pogačar extended his lead in the overall standings as he won his 5th mountain stage at the Tour de France yesterday.
