Hohler was appointed as one of the three panel members by the International Criminal Court on Friday. She took over from Romanian Iulia Motoc, who asked to leave on health grounds.

ICC prosecutors asked for arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and three Hamas leaders, who have since been killed by Israeli forces, in May.

The prosecutors argued that they there were reasonable grounds that the five men had committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, the STA reports.

Hohler is the first Slovenian ever to serve as judge on the ICC.
