Slovenia lags only behind Finland on the list of happiest EU countries.
According to Eurostat, Finland remains on top as the happiest country. And tied in second are Austria, Romania, Belgium, and Slovenia.
Countries were ranked from 0 to 10 and the survey assessed the happiness of all those above the age of 16. Slovenia received a score of 7.7, whil the EU average was 7.3.
Meanwhile Bulgarians seem to be the most unhappy EU citizens with a 5.9 score.
The EU Commision recently identified an "8+1" criteria to define quality of life: Material living conditions, quantity and quality of employment, health, education, leisure and social interactions, economic and physical safety, governance and basic rights, living environment and, lastly, the overall experience of life.
