This year’s Tour de France wrapped up in Paris yesterday. Slovenian rider Tadej Pogačar has finished in second place, having had to concede to Dane Jonas Vingegaard. Pogačar said it was a great race and that no one should be dissapointed.
The 24-year-old also came in second in the tour last year after winning the most prestigious road cycling race in 2020 and 2021.
Another two Slovenians were at the 110th Tour. Matej Mohorič achieved a victory in stage 19 on Friday, finishing 72nd overall in the competition. Meanwhile, Luka Mezgec played a supportive role, assisting Dutchman Dylan Groenewegen during the sprints, and secured 112th place overall.

Current world champion Benjamin Savšek won the Men's Canoe Final in Ivrea, Italy today. It was his 6th win at World Cup level. Eva Terčelj finished 3rd later on in the Women's Kayak Final. Peter Kauzer was also 3rd in the Men's Kayak Final.
Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar finished 7th in his first race since winning the Tour de France in July. The Grand Prix of Quebec was won in a bunch sprint by Michael Matthews of Australia. It was his 3rd victory in Quebec.
