It was a good day for Slovenia's kayakers and canoeists at the latest round of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Ivrea, just north of Turin. Benjamin Savšek won the Men's Canoe Final, while Eva Terčelj and Peter Kauzer were 3rd in their kayak finals.
It was the 6th world cup win of Savšek's career. Luka Božič was 5th and current European Champion Žiga Čin Hočevar, who was the fastest in the semi-finals, finished 10th overall.
Later in the day, Eva Terčelj was 3rd in the Women's Kayak Final final, behind Italy's Stefanie Horn and Ricarda Funk of Germany.
About half an hour later, Peter Kauzer also finished 3rd in the Men's Kayak Final. That one was won by Poland's Mateusz Polacyzk, with Anatole Delassus of France in 2nd place.
Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar finished 7th in his first race since winning the Tour de France in July. The Grand Prix of Quebec was won in a bunch sprint by Michael Matthews of Australia. It was his 3rd victory in Quebec.
