Tusk reportedly welcomed the trilateral meeting of Slovenia, Croatia and the European Commission, which is scheduled to get underway later today. Yesterday evening, Tusk and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković discussed the same issue. Plenković reportedly pointed to the damage that traffic congestion at the border was causing to the economy and tourism.
Due to the persisting congestion at the Slovenian-Croatian border crossings following the introduction of systematic checks on the Schengen border, officials from both countries are expected to call for an agreement that would enable smooth traffic.
