Slovenia's Peter Kauzer won today's World Cup slalom race in wildwater canoeing in Augsburg, Germany.

It was the 3rd round of the season. He was also 2nd in the previous round which took place in Krakow, Poland at the start of June.

Kauzer, who is the reigning European Champion, beat the Czech Republic's Jiri Prskavec by a quarter of a second, with home favourite Hannes Aigner in 3rd, just under 1 second behind the winner.

It's the 11th World Cup win of Kauzer's career.

In other sports news, motocross rider Tim Gajser came 2nd at the Asian Grand Prix in Indonesia.

He narrowly lost out to Dutch rider Jeffrey Herlings, who also leads the overall standings.

Gajser is 4th overall after 26 of 40 races, 173 points behind the Dutchman, with 50 points on offer for each race victory.
