The slimy substance that appeared on the surface of Slovenia's coastal waters is expected to persist for weeks unless dispersed by upcoming burly winds.
The substance, created by phytoplankton, contains various organic and inorganic particles and poses no direct health threat to swimmers but exposure is discouraged due to potential pathogens.
