The Golden Fox Alpine Ski World Cup races will move to Kranjska Gora for a third year in a row. This means Maribor will be without the Golden Fox event for a third year running due to a lack of snow and warm weather. The women's world cup races will now be held on the 8th and 9th of January in Kranjska Gora. Regarding the future of the Maribor event, the race director of the International Ski Federation, Markus Mayr, said they still haven't given up on Maribor and welcomed the ongoing construction of an alternative ski slope at a higher altitude on Mt. Pohorje.
