At the EURO 2024 football championship Slovenia has advanced to the knockout stage for the first time ever, after playing 0:0 with England last night. Around 10,000 Slovenian fans were in Cologne to follow the match. With three points from three draws, Slovenia finished third in Group C and advances as one of the best third-placed teams at the tournament. With the result coach Matjaž Kek said Slovenia proved it belonged at the tournament.
At the same time last night, also in Group C, Denmark and Serbia also played a goalless draw which sends the Serbs home.
