The government is today expected to endorse the motion to recognize the state of Palestine and refer the motion to the National Assembly for final approval. The MPs could vote on the recognition as early as next week.
President Nataša Pirc Musar said it was high time and asked how can Slovenia advocate for a two-state solution if we recognize Israel but not Palestine.
If Slovenia recognizes Palestine, it would join 145 out of 193 UN member states that have done so.
