The agriculture ministers of Slovenia and Croatia met in Otočec today to discuss the grapevine disease causing damage to crops in the region. The flavescence dorée disease has posed a challenge for both countries. Slovenia's minister Irena Šinko and Croatia's Marija Vučković discussed a new project to help control the disease. It first appeared in Slovenia in 2005 in the Istria region, but is now causing most damage in vineyards around Ljutomer and Ormož in the north-east of the country. The pair also discussed EU's common agriculture policy.
