Maribor is joining the first ever Climate City Cup, which is a global competition where cities and their residents compete in who will make the most positive change against climate change. Maribor city authorities have said that the goal is to encourage people to measure environmental data, reconsider their conduct as individuals and make a positive contribution to the city. The competition is running from the 18^th of July until the 18th of November. Many big cities all around the world are competing in the Climate City cup such as Vienna, Singapore, Geneva, New Delhi, and Zurich. The winners will be presented with awards at the UN climate change conference in Chile in December.
