Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon wrapped up her three-day official visit to Brazil.
She ended her trip with a visit to Brazil's biggest city, Sao Paulo, and a meeting with members of the Slovenian community there. Fajon also participated in a meeting of the Slovenian-Brazilian and Slovenian-Argentine chambers of commerce.
Previously, at the start of her trip, she also held talks with government officials in the capital Brasilia. Brazil is Slovenia's top trade partner in Latin America, accounting for more than half of the trade with the entire region.
Data from the foreign ministry suggests that there are between 3,000 and 5,000 members of the Slovenian community in Brazil.
