Kompor was one of several Italian concentration camps established during World War II on the Italian-occupied island of Rab where most of the internees were Slovenians, Croats and Jews. The ceremony was also attended by Croatian President Zoran Milanović and Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon, while Italian President Sergio Matterella was present. Musar commented his absence by being hopeful that all three presidents will one day attend this event in the future before the end of her mandate, since she sees it as an obligation towards their nations. Meanwhile in his address Croatian president Milanović turned his attention towards the war in Ukraine, saying that people are slowly getting used to it but that this is not for the good of the people at all.
