Slovenia is preparing to ring in the new year tonight. Some 50,000 people are expected in the capital, which will boast several concerts and a fireworks show at midnight.
Slovenian pop acts will be playing in Congress Square. Polka music will be in Pogačar square and alternative music will be at the French Revolution Square.
Many cities have decided not to shoot off fireworks tonight, including Maribor and Celje. Ljubljana has said it will use biodegradable rockets.
The weather should be clear but chilly. Temperatures will be well below zero.
