Slovenia ranked 35th in this year's human freedom index ranking. That’s the same spot it had last year.
The ranking includes 162 countries, with New Zealand topping the list. Slovenia finished above average.
Among the country's neighbours, Italy and Austria had a higher rank.
The ranking uses publicly available data. They look at 76 indicators, including personal freedoms, freedom of movement, as well as property rights and the legal system.
