EU leaders tried to agree to a 2021-2027 budget.
Prime Minister Marjan Šarec said that Slovenia could not accept the latest proposal because the cuts in cohesion funds were too drastic.
He also said he did not expect EU leaders to come to an agreement anytime soon.
Slovenia would lose 24% of cohesion funds compared to the current budget period.
