The 12th International Meeting of Young Beekeepers is taking place in Ivančna Gorica.
The event was opened today by Agriculture Minister Irena Šinko, who called for more awareness in agriculture and beekeeping, in order to preserve bees.
More than 150 competitors from 30 countries are in Slovenia for the event.
Young competitors will face beekeeping challenges in order to show their knowledge and skills, such as marking queen bees, identifying different types of honey, and constructing honeycomb bases.
