When I saw the illustrations that Manica Musil had made using various fabrics I had to discover more. Her interesting journey through architecture to writer is fascinating and her love of creating something special for children is something very beautiful, whether you are a child of 3 or one of 67. Take a look at www.manicamusil.com to see what we are discussing.
This week I talked to an Irish writer who was visting Maribor for 8 weeks to write stories in his home language of Gaelic. Cathal Portier has worked as a writer, poet and broadcaster and the show includes many amusing stories about Ireland and the music that has originated there.

Robert Pešut was such fun to be with recording this show.....Magnifico of course ...... his ideas for songs are clearly illustrated though some of his music inspirations and the conversation covers many areas of his work. Plenty of surprises can be heard on Sunday 30th October at 100 and Thursday 3rd of November at 2100.
If you have ever wondered about just how guitars have moved from the original classically sweet acoustic sound to today's aggressive distorted versions of electric guitars then listen to Matej. He not only agreed to come to the studio to discuss this evolution but also brought his beloved Fender Stratocaster so he could demonstrate too. He's a really fantastic guitarist and offers some great inspirational music as well. Sunday 16th October at 1100 and Thursday 20th at 2100.
Srecko Trglec has had many roles and a lot of experiences with RTV. For me the most interesting is his role as Senior Editor for RadioSi. He tells a great story of how it all came to pass and chooses some great music from the 70's onwards.
With Slovenia's Rio Olympics successes fresh in our minds I sought a behind the scenes opinion from the Olympics General Secretary Dr Edvard Kolar. He is fascinating and clearly totally dedicated to making our athletes reach great heights. I also discovered there ismuch more than I realised behind this success. He likes rock music too!
Do you really think about the security of the internet? Renato Ulh says you should. Listen to what he has to say about those who are planning to iupset your life!
Barja Drnovšek and Kristian Kolman are committed to the idea that all of us can benefit from learning music and that means an approach to teaching needs to be not too academic, at least not to start with. I met up with them running a workshop with Bojan Cvetrežnik in Laško, aimed at young children of a wide range of ages and experience and all managed to produce some great performances with an hour concert at the end of the five days. There is much to learn about the value of music!
