Slovenian cyclist Matej Mohorič, who won the Brinckbank Tour in the Netherlands and Belgium last weekend, has continued his good run of form by taking the leader's red jersey at the Tour of Germany.

He won his 3rd stage of the tour, 176km from Trier to Merzig, in a sprint finish against 11 other riders.

He leads home rider Maximilian Schamann by 6 seconds heading into tomorrow's final stage, from Lorsch to Stuttgart.

And staying with cycling, another Slovenian, Tadej Pogačar, is on the brink of his first major victory at the Tour de l'Avenir in France.

Pogačar was 3rd on today's stage to Val d'Isere and leads his nearest rivals by just over 1 minute in the overall standings.

That stage race also finishes tomorrow.
