The Battle of Dražgoše took place from 9th to 11th of January 1942 between Slovenian partisans and German forces. It was the first direct confrontation between the two sides and resulted in 36 soldiers killed and dozens wounded.

The village was later destroyed and 41 villagers executed in retaliation.

A number of politicians also attended today's event and a wreath was laid to commemorate the victims of the battle.

The slogan of the 67th Cultural Program was 'With rebellion and the struggle for freedom'.
