Slovenian officials called for continued efforts to improve gender equality on International Women's Day. PM Janez Janša noted Slovenia's positive gender equality record. Slovenia's share of women in management and companies is 8 percent above the EU average. The share of women in Slovenia's military is also among the highest in NATO and stands at almost 17%.
At the same time trade unions say women in the labour market still face discrimination and various forms of harassment, sexism, and unpaid work.
