After the ceremony she said that she believes that this memorial is the one that can bring us closer to reconciliation, that Slovenia is on the right path and that Slovenians can achieve reconciliation if they look within themselves to determine when, how and why reconciliation is needed. The wreath-laying ceremony took place in Congress Square and was accompanied by military honours and salutes performed by the Guard of the Slovenian Armed Forces. Pirc Musar was also joined by Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon.
