Slovenia will be marking St Gregory’s Day in several locations around the country today.
Children will be releasing candle-lit miniature boats and houses into rivers. It is seen as celebration of the arrival of spring.
The tradition is kept alive in several other towns around Slovenia, including Ljubljana and in the northern part of the country, including in Vrhnika, Kranj, Kranjska Gora, Maribor and elsewhere.
