Next week 250 unemployed persons from the Savinjsko-Šaleška region will start working in Gorenje, on a temporary basis. The fact that an economic giant practically overnight gives employment to such a number of workers has a significant impact on regional unemployment, and consequently the statistics of the Employment Services are very encouraging.
The jobs in Gorenje are temporary, but possibilities for extending the contracts exist. "Presently the prospect for these jobs is good at least for a couple of more months. The jobs are temporary, of course, but we will be happy to extend them if possible," explained Franjo Bobinac, the President of the Managing Board of the company.
Turnabout in Russia
After the problems Gorenje faced last year on the Russian market, the situation is improving. "This year the situation is still complicated, but the market stopped declining. The exchange rate is more stable, so that this year our market shares increased substantially, in Russia by 0.8 percentage points."
According to Gorenje, the conditions on the household appliances market are stable. They have increased their market shares in a number of European countries, in America and in Asia.
The market share of the Gorenje group brands has grown by 7% on the 28 European Union markets. The sale has grown not only at the Russian market, but also in Scandinavia, France, America and Asia. They have noted that buyers are mostly interested in high-end household appliances.
