11 minutes in the Cankar Hall. The festival will last for more than two weeks, and during that time 103 feature films, and 19 short films will be screened.
Already the film chosen to open the festival is pointing to a retrospective which is this year dedicated to the Polish cineaste Jerzy Skolimowski. The short film All These Voices directed by David Henry Gerson, which received a Student Oscar, and in which Martin Horvat participated as a co-screenwriter, will be shown as trailer. The focus is on the Romanian cinematography, which is represented by films directed by directors of the younger generation: Graduation, Illegitimate, Dogs, Scarred Hearts, and Sieranevada. The thematic retrospective is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Slovenian cinematique.
The Liffe programme brings some hits from festivals, among others Toni Erdmann, which neither critics nor audience can resent, Elle directed by Paul Verhoeven, nominated for the European Film Award, and I, Daniel Blake directed by Ken Loach. The Slovenian film is represented by Damjan Kozole (Nightlife), Petra Seliškar (My World Is Upside Down - Ježek) and Igor Šterk (Come Along).
