Approximately 2.3 million euros would fund the construction of the bridge, while a million euros would pay for the setting up access paths. The project is estimated to cost 3.3 million euros in total.
Considering the complexity of the project, obtaining the necessary consents and permits will take two years, stated Celje Municipality. There will be no problems with purchasing land, as the project will be built on land already owned by the municipality.

At a meeting of Celje town council, Celje mayor Bojan Šrot stated that the development of the trail is being planned. The trail will take tourists past historical and cultural landmarks in the old town centre, across Splavarski bridge to Town Park and Heraclei temple, then along the suspended bridge to the Old Castle.

In this way, tourists would get the chance to see archaeological sites, the Celje Museum of Recent History, the Celje Regional Museum and numerous other touristic landmarks which Celje is proud of.
