After the bridge was completed in 2012, the City Municipality of Ljubljana decided to transform the area under the bridge into something usable. They started brainstorming ideas for what to do with the dark area under the bridge, and so the decision was made to develop it into an urban skate park.

The well-lit skate park boasts a concrete half-pipe and a number of other features for skateboarders of all levels.
