And this year as well in Volčji Potok a tulip will bloom for every Slovenian, it was promised on today’s press conference in Arboretum where they presented to journalists their preparations for their already 25th spring exhibition of flowers, tulips, and gardening equipment. The exhibition will take place from April 23 to May 2.

25 years ago the visitors of Arboretum were impressed by approximately 50,000 tulips planted for the first spring exhibition. Now two million tulips have been planted, and are waiting for the exhibition to open. The florists are a bit worried because of the warm weather: "The spring has already arrived to the park. For now daffodils are taking the stage, but soon tulips will start replacing them. We are counting on the forecasted cold spell to slow the tulips, so that they would start showing off at the time we would like to show them to visitors in the best light," Matjaž Mastnak said.

They boast with 300 species of tulips, and as some were planted in shaded areas and will bloom a bit later, they will most certainly bring joy to visitors. Besides flowers, a number of other attractions have been prepared for them. New models of dinosaurs will be on view to the visitors, and children will appreciate the novelty: the land of the fairy-tale heroes. The management of the park has a lot of new plans for future as well.

"Our greatest wish for future is a new entrance to arboretum. We have already obtained approval of the Ministry, and it will be our most important consideration," Aleš Ocepek Director of the Arboretum, explained.

The primary purpose of the innovations is to satisfy wishes of as large a number of visitors as possible.
