The Shift manager of the Operational Communication Centre Martin Clement explained that the driver of a van who was driving from the direction of Sežana, just before the Gabrk turning crashed into a support pillar of the traffic signals. The vehicle burst into flames. Two people died at the scene of accident, one man is in a critical condition.

Half of the motorway between Sežana East and the Gabrk turning from Italy towards Ljubljana and Koper is closed; traffic is being directed on to the parallel road, according to the Traffic Information Centre.
